Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Cleaners W12 is committed to operating with integrity, transparency, and respect for the dignity and rights of every individual. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains.
We recognise that the cleaning sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, and we are determined that our services are delivered in a way that safeguards workers and promotes fair and lawful employment practices.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Cleaners W12 has a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We do not condone, support, or engage in any practice that is incompatible with fundamental human rights. This applies to all aspects of our business, including direct employment, subcontracting, and our wider supply chain.
All employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers are expected to act in accordance with our standards. Any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery is treated as a serious breach of our policies and may result in the termination of contracts or working relationships, as well as referral to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
Due Diligence and Supplier Audits
We understand that the risk of modern slavery can exist at multiple points in the supply chain. To address this, Cleaners W12 conducts due diligence on new and existing suppliers and service providers. We seek to work only with organisations that share our commitment to ethical labour practices.
Our approach includes reviewing supplier policies, requesting information about employment practices, and, where appropriate, carrying out audits or site visits. These audits may focus on working hours, pay and benefits, recruitment processes, workers right to work documentation, and grievance mechanisms.
Suppliers are required to confirm compliance with applicable labour laws and to demonstrate that they do not engage in forced, bonded, or involuntary labour. Where risks are identified, we work with suppliers to agree improvement actions and monitor progress. Persistent non-compliance may result in the suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our management team and frontline staff. Training and guidance are provided to help employees understand potential indicators of exploitation, such as withholding of documents, excessive deductions from wages, restriction of movement, or intimidation and threats.
Managers responsible for procurement, recruitment, and staff supervision are given additional support to recognise risk factors within their areas of responsibility and to act promptly and appropriately when concerns arise.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Cleaners W12 encourages a culture where concerns can be raised without fear of retaliation. All workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to speak up if they suspect any form of modern slavery or unethical labour practice in connection with our operations.
Concerns can be reported to line managers or senior management in person or in writing. Reports can be made anonymously where local laws permit. All reports are taken seriously, treated sensitively, and investigated promptly. We do not tolerate victimisation of any person who raises a concern in good faith.
Where appropriate, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement or regulatory bodies in investigating allegations of modern slavery.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Cleaners W12 is committed to continuous improvement in our approach to preventing modern slavery. We regularly review our policies, risk assessments, and due diligence processes to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the nature and scale of our operations.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least once every year by senior management. The review considers any incidents reported, audit findings, changes in legislation, and evolving best practice. Where necessary, we update our procedures, training, and contractual requirements to strengthen our safeguards.
By maintaining a clear zero-tolerance policy, conducting supplier audits, providing accessible reporting channels, and committing to an annual review, Cleaners W12 aims to ensure that our cleaning services are delivered responsibly and that the rights and wellbeing of all workers connected with our business are respected and protected.
